We heard Pepe and his hysterical "bakit, nay, bakit?". We heard his mother shutting him up with a single "basta." But we never found out the real reason... until now. The mystery unravels as the plot thickens in the dramatic story that is Pepe's dog. Cris and Mickey explain the finer details, while Jovitt joins in to explain the power relations in the Filipino household.
A: Mahal, balita ko gusto ni Pepe ng aso.
B: Mahirap iyan. May asthma yung bata. Delikado.
A: Alam ko. Pero birthday niya...
B: Hindi nga pwede eh!
A: Love, i heard Pepe wants a dog.
B: That's going to be hard. The kid has asthma. It's dangerous.
A: I know.. But it's his birthday..
B: I told you, it ain't happening.

Woo.. drama's unfolding!
I hope they don't sell aso to la sango!
May storyline ba kayo? Can I be the kontrabida?
We actually have. But if you want to add some flavor into it, feel free to contact us. Or you can just wait to see what fate awaits Pepe and his family. *dandandan*
Dear KalyeSpeak:
As an English as a first language speaker I've always had trouble with the "ng" pronounciation. For example, "ngayon" or "nga" in this lesson.
Any thoughts, or tips on proper pronounciation?
Thanks, Bill M.

Thanks for the shout out!!!
I didn't catch it until the 3rd pass. I have a habit of cutting off when I know the instruction is done.
Re: Boston Sports
It's a dangerous topic with most Bostonians. Boston fans are quite insane. Fortunately, I'm far removed. I grew up a Boston Bruins Hockey fan...since nobody cares about Hockey there's no controversy...however, Bobby Orr IS god.
Great Podcast! I enjoyed how you brought a contemporary feel to learning tagalog. The insight and comedy you provide makes the show entertaining. It's obvious your crew has fun making the show. Funny, of course it is, there is a pinoy essence that is always familiar.
Would you mind if we linked our audience to your site?

Hey Bill! Regarding the pronounciation of "ng", we included it in our next podcast (It's So Hot! Ang Init! episode). :)
And yup, we agree, Bobby Orr is a hockey god.
